Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and mix well. Add in the eggs one at a time, blending thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and the red food coloring until everything is well incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet until just combined.
  • In another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix again. Finally, fold in the sour cream until everything is combined.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Pour the cheesecake mixture on top of the brownie layer, smoothing it out. Dollop the remaining brownie batter on top, swirling it gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean. Allow it to cool in the pan.
