1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, pecans or walnuts work well)
1/2 cup brown sugar (for cinnamon swirl)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for cinnamon swirl)
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze consistency)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, along with the vanilla extract.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Step 4: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the swirl mixture.
Step 5: Spread half of the blondie batter in the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it. Pour the remaining batter on top and swirl in the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Step 6: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few crumbs attached. Allow to cool before serving.
