Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground turkey
1/3 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
1/4 cup breadcrumbs or gluten-free alternative
1 egg or flax egg for vegan option
2 green onions, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp grated ginger
Salt and pepper to taste
4 burger buns or lettuce wrap for low-carb
Optional toppings: cucumber slices, cilantro, and lime wedges
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, Thai sweet chili sauce, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Use your hands or a spatula to ensure everything is thoroughly mixed but don’t overwork it to keep the burgers tender.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each one into a patty about 1 inch thick. Create a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
Whether you’re using an outdoor grill or a stovetop skillet, preheat to medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a splash of oil to prevent sticking.
Add the patties to your preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The burgers should be golden brown and caramelized on the outside.
Toast your burger buns on the grill for added flavor. Place each turkey patty on a bun and top with cucumber slices, fresh cilantro, and a drizzle of additional Thai sweet chili sauce if desired. Serve with lime wedges.
