8 oz (225 g) pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or penne work perfectly)
1 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Parmesan cheese (optional for garnish)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet, followed by Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Allow it to simmer for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning as necessary.
Add the cooked pasta into the sauce, tossing to coat each piece evenly. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
