Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Extra melted butter for brushing
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting (optional)

  • Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-7 minutes until bubbly. Then, mix in melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Gradually add flour and mix until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Brush the surface with melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture evenly over the top.
  • Evenly distribute the fresh blueberries across the cinnamon-sugar layer. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
  • Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy and nearly doubled.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool slightly before drizzling with cream cheese frosting if desired.
